- Day 5 to 8: Over the course of your next four days in Baños, Ecuador, you'll have the opportunity to delve into Spanish lessons, refine your salsa dancing skills, embark on an exhilarating mountain biking journey to Pailon del Diablo waterfall, and experience the adrenaline rush of a Canopy Bridge excursion. In between these adventures, you'll also have ample time to explore the vibrant nightlife and charming coffee shops of this lively town, making memories that blend cultural immersion with thrilling outdoor experiences.
- Days 22 to 26 bring a well-deserved break after your impactful work at the animal rescue center. Prepare for a coastal retreat in Montañita, Ecuador's premier surfing destination. Enjoy yoga sessions on the 24th and 25th, surfing lessons on the 24th, 25th, and 26th, and leisure time at the beach. Optional Spanish classes are also available.
- Days 27 to 30
For the next 3 days, dive into environmental volunteering at Las Tunas community, focusing on beach cleaning, turtle nest monitoring, and more. Located just south of Manabi and Puerto López, Las Tunas beach is renowned for its beauty and community efforts in conservation. Join activities like beach cleaning, reforestation, and education programs for a meaningful experience in nature.
- As your Ecuador journey comes to a close, consider extending your adventure with a visit to the Galapagos Islands, an enchanting paradise teeming with unique wildlife and natural wonders. Explore pristine beaches, encounter iconic species like giant tortoises and blue-footed boobies, and immerse yourself in the unparalleled beauty of this extraordinary archipelago. Extend your trip and continue your unforgettable journey in the Galapagos!
- Day 1 & 2 Quito - Upon landing, you'll be driven to your lively Hostel. After checking into your dorm and meeting fellow travelers, you'll enjoy a group dinner—perfect for getting to know each other. Remember, Quito is at a high altitude (2800 meters), so take it easy the first few days to avoid altitude sickness.
- Day 3 & 4 Andes - Over the next two days, you'll experience the stunning Andean scenery, including the beautiful Cotopaxi volcano. After breakfast, you'll leave Quito and head to Lasso, staying overnight at the charming Chuquiragua Lodge. Your guide will take you to Cotopaxi’s basecamp for a high-altitude hike. Stay hydrated, wear warm clothes, and enjoy a sugary snack to avoid altitude sickness. The adventure continues with an exhilarating bike ride down from Cotopaxi, with lunch and dinner provided. The next day, you'll visit the stunning Quilotoa crater lake before heading to Baños.
- Days 9 to 21: Over the next 12 days, you'll start your volunteer project at the Animal Rescue Center in Puyo.
Established in 2006, this center is dedicated to conserving Amazon wildlife, rescuing and rehabilitating abused or neglected animals. You'll witness firsthand the resilience of these creatures, some orphaned by hunters or saved from captivity or illegal trade.
For one and a half week, immerse yourself in daily activities caring for the animals, preparing meals, assisting new arrivals, and contributing to center maintenance and improvement. Your stay includes meals, with free time on weekends to relax or explore Puyo. This unique experience promises unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to wildlife conservation in the heart of the Amazon.
